What exactly is a Standard MPA-CR agent?

Your Standard agent is a friendly, English-speaking Costa Rican local who specializes in helping tourists feel comfortable and confident. Think of them as your cultural bridge and practical assistant rolled into one. It is perfect for first-timers, anyone who wants practical local assistance and cultural guidance will benefit. Even experienced travelers appreciate having a trusted local contact.

 

How do I choose which service level is right for me?

Standard is perfect for city-based trips and first-time visitors. Cross-Country is ideal if you're exploring multiple regions. Premium is best for those wanting exclusive, personalized experiences with unique accommodation options.

 

How does the city walking tour work?

Your agent will walk with you through different neighborhoods, pointing out essentials like ATMs, pharmacies, safe areas, local customs. Some agents are certified Professional Tour Guides for more detailed historical and cultural information.

 

What kind of shopping assistance do you provide?

Your agent accompanies you to grocery stores, markets, and shops, helping you understand products, navigate pricing, avoid tourist traps, and handle any language barriers that come up.

 

How does transportation coordination work?

Your agent will arrange and manage both public transportation and Uber rides, ensuring you understand the system, get fair pricing, and arrive safely at your destinations.

 

What makes Cross-Country different from Standard?

Cross-Country includes everything from Standard service, plus private transportation. This means your agent (or a coordinated agent) can travel with you to different regions of Costa Rica.

 

Do I get the same agent throughout my trip?
It can be the same agent or different agents depending on your itinerary and preferences. We coordinate to ensure seamless service across regions.

What does private transportation include?

This means a dedicated vehicle and driver (often your agent) who can take you between cities, regions, and attractions without relying on public transport or ride-sharing.

Is Cross-Country worth it for a short trip?

If you're planning to visit multiple regions of Costa Rica (like beach and mountains), Cross-Country eliminates the stress of coordinating transportation between areas.

What makes Premium different from the other services?

Premium agents own properties and can offer you a place to stay as part of your experience. You get all Standard and Cross-Country services, plus exclusive accommodations.

What types of properties are available?

Properties range from apartments and houses to condominiums, farms, and even businesses with accommodations like private spas or recreational properties.

Is staying with a Premium agent like a homestay?

It can be, depending on the property type and your preferences. Some offer more hotel-like privacy, while others provide a more authentic local living experience.

 

Can I still get regular hotel accommodations with your service?

Absolutely. Any gent can handle any accommodation type - the private properties are just an additional, exclusive option. However, we are not currently operating, but it's coming soon! 

Are agents available 24/7?

Availability varies by agent and service level. Specific availability details will be available at the site and by the time you request the service.

 

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible, at least 24 to 48 hours in advance.

 

What if I have special requirements or requests?

All our agents are trained to accommodate reasonable special requests. Discuss your specific needs when booking so we can match you with the most suitable agent.


What are your prices?
Our pricing varies depending on the type and duration of services required. We believe in providing personalized support, so please contact us for a custom quote tailored to your needs.
