Unexpected trip to a swimming resort (balneario) in Alajuela.
Many times, tourists who visit us have a day with no set activities, unsure where to go or what places to visit on short one-day tours. On this occasion, we were lucky enough to meet Georgia and her friend, whom we invited on a one-day tour in Alajuela. We headed to a local swimming resort (balneario) in Carrillos Alto de Alajuela. A beautiful place and a very affordable trip to consider. The resort features a restaurant, an Olympic-sized pool, a children’s pool, a natural pool, lovely green areas, a soccer field, a camping area, ranchos (thatched huts) for hanging out and barbecuing, restrooms, walking trails, and finally, a river with its own waterfall. This place also features water slides that fall into natural pools of water.
